Shortpiece! SENDAI SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2013 is now inviting
entries, in the form of shortfilms, with special emphasis upon “story”.
With the aim of discovering new talent and of sharing a fascination with cinema, the FESTIVAL will give us the chance to re-think what movies mean to us.

Application Requirements
Application Requirements
1. The festival is open to everybody.
2. The entries should be short films produced after 2012.
3. Films should be no longer than 20 minutes.
4. The original edition should be :
film(8mm,16mm,35mm)
video(VHS,S-VHS, Beta,DV),DVD,Blu-ray Disc
5. Applications are limited to one per person.
6. Works which have already won awards at other film festivals will be accepted.
(In such cases,be sure to put down the name and the year of the festival and adhere to the necessary procedures
with regard to the screen rights for the work.)
7. For non-Japanese language films ,attach a script either in Japanese or English.

Selection
Works will be selected from May to the beginning of July by the SENDAI SHORT FILM FESTIVAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE.
The selected films are to be posted on the homepage of SENDAI SHORT FILM FESTIVAL.

Events
Directors of the selected films and other guests will be
invited to the festival.
During the festival they will participate in teach-ins and other meetings.
(The guest for 2004: Shiota Akihiko(director),2005: Shinohara Tetsuo(director) ,2006:Furumaya Tomoyuki(director), 2007: Naoki Nagao(director), 2008: Hiroyuki Negishi(Film Producer),2009: Nami Iguchi(director),2010:Kazuyoshi Kumakiri(director) and Kosuke Mukai (scriptwriter), 2011: Masanori Tominaga(director)
Fares,hotel expenses and screening costs will be paid by the Committee. Winning films will be recorded on DVD (SENDAI SHORT FILM FESTIVAL 2010 Archive-provisional name)
and are to be presented to the Sendai Mediatheque Pictures and Sounds Library.
(Consultations on recording rights will be held separately).

Screen environment
The studio theater on the 7th floor of Sendai Mediatheque accommodates 180 people ,
and is equipped with 35mm projector : XEBEX XP-3000, 16mm projector: EIKI EX-6100, DLP projector: Panasonic TH-D7500N-K.

The COMMITTEE does not take responsibility in case of accidental damage to , or loss of ,entries.
Also the COMMITTEE assumes no responsibility for any losses or damage incurred in transit.
